I recently had to have a root canal and this office was recommended by a friend. I believe the work received was standard. My first visit was due to a tooth ache, which this office referred me to a specialist to complete. However, the initial visit was $500 plus out of pocket for a regular check-up/cleaning. I had a hair-line cavity and an very minor old filling that fell out??? (I guess, that was what I was told) It had been 8 months since my last cleaning, but this seemed still seemed pretty expensive, but I felt this was due to my first visit and such. However, the root canal situation has been a nightmare for my pocketbook. Between the specialist, and then the dentist in Dr. Armstrongs office completing this process, I'm forking out around $2,500!!! I believe they have an excellent system of maximizing profit, even if it's from the people least able to pay, such as the uninsured. When I asked for any kind of a discount, I was basically referred to the bookkeeper, like she makes these decisions. She had a well formulated pitch as to why dicounts aren't provided. (Only 5% discount if you pay 100% cash day of dental work) Bottom line: If you are uninsured, do not go to these guys or at least get a second opinion before you allow them to do the work.
